Two pale, watchful figures stand against a deep black field, their bodies wrapped in luminous yellow and gold. Between them rises an open hand, each fingertip carrying a small face, while above them another face appears within a radiant, cloud-like burst. Fine red and blue lines travel from symbols at the figures’ hearts, descend through their bodies, and gather around the central hand, suggesting an unseen circulation of memory, energy, or connection.
The figures feel both intimately related and strangely separate. One stands erect while the other leans toward the center, giving the composition an uneasy tenderness. The small faces on the fingertips turn the raised hand into something more than a gesture: it becomes a meeting place, a messenger, or perhaps a conduit between individual consciousness and the larger presence hovering above.
The bright, roughly worked surface of the robes contrasts sharply with the surrounding darkness. Faces emerge with the imperfect, shifting quality of remembered people or dream figures rather than conventional portraits. As in much of my work, the image developed through layering, accident, and discovery rather than from a predetermined narrative. Its meaning remains open—somewhere between communication, relationship, memory, and the mysterious forces that seem to connect one consciousness to another.
